Hi! My name is Jen and I’m the dietitian who started New Leaf Nutrition®. I’m also a wife, dog mom, casual weight lifter, and contain the ability to eat over half of a tube of cinnamon rolls by myself (it’s a sight to behold, lemme tell ya).
My interest in nutrition started in high school when I took a personality test that showed I have an affinity for science, but that I am most energized by being with people. Not many science jobs have as much human interaction as I need in a day and I realized that by becoming a dietitian, I could work with people and offer them help in real, tangible ways. So I went to Mizzou's Coordinated Program in Dietetics and became a Registered Dietitian! I love that I can come into someone’s life and bring so much peace around a topic that can be so crazy and confusing.
I’ve been a dietitian since 2014 and have seen it ALL! I’ve worked in hospitals, an eating disorder treatment facility, a bariatric surgical center, and now I work for myself.
I created New Leaf Nutrition® to give you simple solutions. No more constantly being hungry. No more weight loss to just gain it all back. No more chasing the next fad diet. With us you get easy-to-understand, straightforward help. We'll identify goals that are mentally and physically healthy for you, and create a path to get you there. And that’s what makes us different than most other dietitians—when you work with us you get full access—we are here for YOU! Not sure which spaghetti sauce to buy? Send us a picture and we’ll tell ya. Need a grocery list? We’ll make it together. We are so happy to be right there with you, working through those daily challenges as a team. You are so much more than a number on a scale and you better believe we'll remind you of it.
Mariah is a proud wife and dog mom of three. She loves being active by biking along the Katy Trail, hiking in national parks, and strength training and her other hobbies include traveling and drinking cold brew coffee. Mariah also considers herself a macaroni and cheese connoisseur and is actively looking for the world’s best!
Mariah graduated from Fontbonne University with her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics along with her Master of Arts in Health Advancement and Promotion. Throughout Mariah’s dietetic internship journey, she worked in the hospital setting on the clinical and food service side, completed community health screenings, and worked on the Chartwell school district food truck, but she found that she enjoyed one-on-one nutrition counseling the most! Mariah has a strong passion for motivating others to reach their goals and providing recent, evidence-based nutrition information to her clients. Mariah's favorite part of her job is creating lasting relationships and helping her clients create life-long healthy habits.
Catie moved back to O’Fallon after spending seven years in Kansas City and is very happy to be back with her Cardinals and Blues teams! She and her husband have been married since 2017 and they’re proud parents to their daughter and rescue dog. Her other hobbies include Peloton workouts, seeking out unique restaurants, reading, and listening to podcasts.
Catie received her undergraduate degree in Dietetics from the University of Missouri, and a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Alabama. During her time in Kansas City, Catie worked at an academic medical center working with a large variety of patients.
She is thrilled to be working at New Leaf Nutrition® and is excited to help her clients reach their wellness goals. Catie strongly believes that nutrition plans should be individualized and focused on lifestyle changes that can continue lifelong, rather than cycling through diet after diet. She looks forward to building relationships with her clients!
Alex lived in Ohio for ten years, but moved back to the St. Louis area in May 2022. She adores both her cat, Liam, and dog, Biggie, who she shares with her fiancé. Their wedding is in summer of 2023 and they couldn’t be more excited. Her absolute favorite thing to do is hot yoga, but also enjoys running, reading, and lounging out watching movies.
Alex received her undergraduate degree in both Public Health and Applied Nutrition from Ohio University in Athens, OH. After graduation, she moved to Cincinnati where she worked full time as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She has been a certified trainer for nine years and has had the ability to work with many unique, wonderful clients. She later received an opportunity from Ohio University to attend graduate school, study nutrition and complete the dietetic internship. During her internship she was able to experience working with outpatient dietitians. She fell in love with the outpatient setting and realized it was her calling! Her favorite part of the dietetic field is being able to consistently work with clients and provide them with individualized care using evidence-based information.
Alex H. received her Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics from Radford University, and a Masters in Health Communications from Fontbonne University. She initially got into nutrition during college when she began looking at ways to help manage her stress and improve her overall health. Throughout Alex's dietetics education, she worked in settings such as K-12 schools, research centers, and even correctional facilities. Since starting her career, she has worked for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program and in the hospital setting, but enjoys seeing you, her New Leaf Nutrition® outpatient clients, the most. Some of her favorite topics to work on are improving relationships with food, vegetarian nutrition, and weight management. Alex is a firm believer that you don’t have to cut out the foods you love in order to reach your goals - all foods can fit into your diet! In addition to being an RD, Alex is also a Certified Personal Trainer with a love of functional fitness and indoor cycling. When she's not in the office, you can usually find her spending time with her boyfriend and their 2 cats, attempting to DIY some home decor, or trying out a new restaurant.
